More than 1.96 lakh street vendors in Delhi have benefited under the Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme since its launch, according to data shared by the Centre in the Rajya Sabha.

Replying to an unstarred question on Monday, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs said 31,155 street vendors in Delhi received assistance under the scheme in 2020-21. The number stood at 10,376 in 2021-22, 17,845 in 2022-23 and rose sharply to 1,20,049 in 2023-24 before declining to 13,301 in 2024-25 and 3,711 in 2025-26.

The figures take the total number of beneficiaries in the national capital to 1,96,437 since the scheme was launched.

The ministry said the Centre has approved a restructured PM SVANidhi scheme, extending its lending period till March 31, 2030. The revised scheme increases the first loan tranche to up to Rs 15,000 and the second tranche to up to Rs 25,000. It also introduces cashback on wholesale purchases, expands coverage to census towns and peri-urban areas in a phased manner, and provides UPI-linked RuPay Credit Cards to eligible beneficiaries who have repaid the second loan tranche.

The ministry said it has also undertaken awareness campaigns, Lok Kalyan Melas and special drives to improve outreach, speed up loan disbursal and promote digital onboarding of street vendors across the country.
