Over 98% of Delhi voters receive SIR forms, digitisation crosses 12%

More than 98 per cent of Delhi’s 1.45 crore electors have been provided enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, while digitisation of the completed forms stood at only 12 per cent, according to official data published on Tuesday.

As per the status report, a total of 1,43,02,626 enumeration forms have been distributed, covering 98.57 per cent of the capital’s 1,45,10,298 electors.

The number of physical forms processed into electronic format stood at 17,66,553, accounting for 12.17 per cent of the total electorate.

The door-to-door enumeration drive began on June 30 and will continue till July 29.

With the distribution of enumeration forms nearing completion, officials said the focus will increasingly shift to collecting filled enumeration forms and digitising them.

According to the CEO’s data, North East Delhi recorded the highest number of forms distributed at 18,70,636, followed by East (15,92,065), South East (15,25,698), West (14,40,443) and South (13,30,445).

In percentage terms, New Delhi achieved 100 per cent distribution, followed by North East (99.99 per cent), East (99.30 per cent), Central North (99.28 per cent) and South West (99.20 per cent).

North West Delhi recorded the lowest distribution percentage at 94.36 per cent, followed by Outer North (97.19 per cent), South East (97.97 per cent), North (98.78 per cent) and Old Delhi (98.82 per cent).

In terms of digitisation, South West Delhi led with 2,34,403 forms, followed by West (2,12,681), Outer North (2,10,213), North West (1,76,034) and North East (1,67,544).

Percentage-wise, Outer North Delhi recorded the highest digitisation rate at 25.25 per cent, followed by South West (17.63 per cent), Central North (15.41 per cent), North (14.70 per cent) and West (14.61 per cent).

East recorded the lowest digitisation rate at 7.25 per cent, followed by Old Delhi (7.22 per cent), South East (7.90 per cent), Central (8.66 per cent) and North East (8.96 per cent).

Under the SIR exercise, booth-level officers (BLOs) are distributing two copies of the enumeration form to every elector. One copy is retained by the voter as an acknowledgement, while the other is submitted to the BLO after being filled.

The Election Commission has said voters can also submit their forms online.

The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on October 7 after completion of the revision exercise.
