Gusty winds and light rain swept through the national capital on Tuesday, offering relief to residents.
The weather saw a sudden shift in the evening, with the maximum temperature dipping slightly below the usual at 36.8 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD warned of potential damage to plantations, horticulture, and standing crops due to the strong winds and advised residents to stay indoors, secure windows and doors, and avoid unnecessary travel.
A dust storm followed by a thunderstorm with rain and gusty winds, ranging from 40 to 70 kilometers per hour, is expected to hit Delhi and adjoining areas within the next two hours.
Relative humidity fluctuated between 28 percent and 66 percent during the day.
For Wednesday, partly cloudy skies with strong winds are forecasted, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected to reach around 37 and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively. (With inputs from PTI)
