Delhi experienced a minimum temperature of 22.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, which is four degrees below the seasonal average, with rain expected during the day, India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

On August 26, the IMD issued a ‘yellow’ alert for the national capital, forecasting generally cloudy skies, light to moderate rain, and thundershowers accompanied by strong surface winds ranging from 30 to 40 kmph.

The IMD’s colour-coded weather warnings include a ‘green’ alert, indicating no advisory is necessary, a ‘yellow’ alert advising caution as conditions may deteriorate, an ‘orange’ alert suggesting preparation for potential power outages and transportation disruptions, and a ‘red’ alert signalling extremely severe weather that could disrupt transportation and power supply, posing a risk to life.
