Earlier today, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia alleged the BJP approached him with an offer to close all CBI ED cases against him, provided that Sisodia joins their party. He made the statement from his official Twitter page.
He further emphasised that all the allegations made against him were false and the CBI had found no evidence against him regarding the irregularities in the implementation of Delhi’s liquor excise policy in 2021-22. The tweet, which was published in Hindi, says: “I have received a message from the BJP — Leave AAP and join BJP. We will ensure that all cases by CBI and ED against you are shut. My reply to BJP — I am a descendant of Maharana Pratap and a Rajput. I am ready to get beheaded but can never bow down before conspirators and corrupt people. All the cases against me are false. Do whatever you want to do”.
The AAP minister has alleged that the investigations and FIRS against him are the opponent’s modus operandi to stop AAP from doing good work and to put obstacles in the path of the AAP chief, Arvind Kejriwal, who has emerged as an alternative to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On Friday morning, the CBI raided Sisodia’s residence, besides 30 other locations, in connection with the irregularities in the Delhi government’s Excise Policy 2021-22. The CBI has registered an FIR against 13 people, including Sisodia, regarding the irregularities in implementing the excise policy. However, the CBI didn’t find any evidence against Sisodia.
The excise policy was withdrawn by the Delhi government after Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena recommended a probe by CBI into the alleged violations of rules and procedural lapses in the implementation of the excise policy that came into effect on 17 November last year.
