
Six individuals were arrested for allegedly deceiving women in Nagpur, Crime Branch officials said.
The arrested individuals, identified as Harish Dabi (27), Arun Arjun Parmar (19), Parot Jeetu Parmar (20), Rathani Sitaram Solanki (40), Pooja Naresh Solanki (22), and Gopi Jiva Solanki (50), are all residents of Raghuvir Nagar in Delhi.
“Three individuals are currently evading capture. This group has been operating within the city for the last four days, utilizing a rented room in Ajni to target women, particularly those commuting in cars. Their modus operandi involved a bag containing money and pieces of paper,” the officials said.
The arrests were made following a review of CCTV footage from areas where women had reported encounters with the group, the officials confirmed.
“They have admitted to engaging in criminal activities across several police station areas including Panchpaoli, Koradi, Old Kamthi, Dhantoli, and Nandanvan. Seized items amount to Rs 3.67 lakh, including 50 grams of gold,” the officials added. (With inputs from PTI)
