Skeleton-like object found in scrap during Delhi cleanliness drive

Police found a skeleton-like object in scrap material during a cleanliness drive in central Delhi on Saturday and are verifying whether it was human’s or a dummy used for educational purposes, an official said.

A preliminary inquiry indicated that the scrap dealer may have received the skeleton-like object from a school, police said.

The object was found in scrap material during the cleanliness campaign, following which the matter was reported to the police, they said.

The object could be biological waste from the school that had been received for sampling or educational purposes, they said.

Police said it was too early to ascertain whether the object was an actual human skeleton or a dummy used for teaching purposes.

Verification is currently being carried out with the scrap dealer and the school administration to establish the object’s source and nature, they added.
