These book stores in Connaught Place are a must-visit

Located in the alleys of Connaught Place, these book stores are a paradise for bibliophiles. The variety of genres extends from fiction to non-fiction and more.

Here are few book stores people can visit:

1. Oxford book store

Located in N Block, the Oxford book store is one of the most renowned and known cafés in Connaught Place. Almost all the genres and variety of books, which can be read and bought, are present. The place also has manga comic books for anime lovers. In addition to that, they also have a café that sells a number of dishes, including drinks, snacks and a variety of other vegetarian, as well as, non-vegetarian items. The timings of the book store are 10 am to 8 pm.

2. Central News Agency

One of the oldest book stores in Delhi, it was originally founded in 1930s by Balak Ram Puri in Shimla. Apart from books, this store also sells magazines, architectural books, educational stuff and other Indian language fiction and non-fiction books too. The timings are 9:30 am till 6:30 pm.

3. Peoples Publication House ltd.

Founded in March 12, 1947, its inception was for students from the economically weaker sections. It also publishes books on different subjects like history, economics , politics, sociology, literature fiction and much more. It is located in G block, Marina Arcade, Connaught place. The timings of the book store are 10 am till 5:30 pm.

4. St Paul International Bookstore

Located in Connaught circle, H-Block, this book store was established in 1964 by the Society of St Paul. The shelves are also divided into different categories like catechism, sprituality, parenting , saints etc. The store opens at 9:30 am and closes at 6 pm.

5. Famous Book Store

Located in Janpath Market near Depaul’s, the store opens at 11:30 am and closes at 9:30 pm. Started in Pakistan, the store has a rich heritage of more than 95 years. After independence, it shifted to Delhi in 1949. The has a variety of books in all genre for all age groups.

Pranav Sabarwal, a visitor from Noida at the bookstore, said, “I’ve been visiting bookstores at regular intervals. As I’m into literature and philosophy, it becomes quite difficult to find books of different authors and philosophers. But, here I’m able to find most of the books. If the books aren’t available at the moment, then you can also request the owner to order them for you and within few days we can have whatever book we want.”
