Recreating the ‘Delhi government model’ within the framework of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, the municipal body has formulated plans to initiate a convenient door-to-door delivery system for 23 essential services.

These services encompass tasks such as procuring birth and death certificates as well as renewing factory licenses, as per statements by officials on Tuesday.

Mayor Shelly Oberoi underscored that this initiative is aimed at catering to the needs of the elderly populace and those who may not be well-versed with technology.

Scheduled to be launched in October, the MCD is in the process of introducing a doorstep delivery mechanism for its suite of 23 services. Citizens can avail these services or lodge complaints by dialing the toll-free number 155305. Subsequently, a visit will be organized by a mobile ‘sahayak’, who will make a house call between 8 am and 10 pm to offer information and resolve issues, according to officials.

Each mobile ‘sahayak’ will be equipped with a laptop, tablet, and internet connectivity to facilitate their tasks. The MCD aims to complete service delivery within two working days, as specified by the mayor.

Echoing the principles of the ‘Delhi government model’, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi is all set to apply the door-to-door service system, as emphasized by the mayor.

Among the additional services that will be included are modifications to birth certificates, applications for new health trade licenses, renewals of health trade licenses, applications for new factory licenses, and property tax return submissions, among others.

Mayor Oberoi further revealed that from the complaints received through the MCD 311 app, a significant 80 percent of them have been successfully resolved within the past 17 days.
