Three buses on Monday broke down in different areas of south Delhi, causing disruptions to vehicular traffic along MB Road.

The Delhi Traffic Police utilised social media platforms to inform the public about the traffic conditions and urged them to adjust their travel plans accordingly.

According to their post on X, traffic congestion occurred on MB Road, specifically in the carriageway from Khanpur towards Hamdard, due to the breakdown of three buses near Batra Hospital, Pipal Chowk, and Hamdard T-Point respectively.

“Traffic Alert Traffic is affected on MB Road in the carriageway from Khanpur towards Hamdard due to breakdown of three buses near Batra Hospital, Pipal Chowk and Hamdard T-Point respectively. Commuters are advised to plan their journey accordingly,” the post read.

Furthermore, traffic flow was hindered on Faiz Road, in the carriageway from the Bagga Link roundabout towards Kalka Das Chowk, due to another bus breakdown. Similarly, congestion was reported on Prithviraj Road as a result of a bus breakdown at Q-Point.

Statistics obtained by PTI from the Delhi Traffic Police indicated that between July 2022 and June 2023, an average of 79 DTC or cluster buses broke down daily in the city, with an average response time of approximately 40 minutes.

Additionally, authorities mentioned that ongoing construction work by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation between Mukarba Chowk and Madhuban Chowk would lead to traffic disruptions on Outer Ring Road near Power House opposite RU Block in Pitampura for approximately two months.
