Traffic will be disrupted on a stretch in southwest Delhi as repair work begins on Old Kakrola Road, which will remain closed from October 6 to 20, according to a police advisory issued on Saturday. The maintenance work will affect the Tura Mandi Chowk-Shyam Vihar Chowk-Najafgarh drain stretch.
Traffic restrictions will be imposed depending on the section or the full stretch of the road under repair, the advisory stated.
Commuters traveling from Najafgarh Tura Mandi Chowk to Dwarka are advised to take the main Najafgarh-Uttam Nagar Road until Dwarka More, or use the Najafgarh-Kapashera Road to reach their destination. Motorists traveling from Dwarka towards Tura Mandi Chowk, Najafgarh, will need to take Old Palam Road to reach the main Uttam Nagar-Najafgarh Road.
A diversion will also be made at Shyam Vihar Chowk as needed, the advisory noted. Delhi Police urged commuters to avoid the road under repair and to refrain from roadside parking on the Tura Mandi Chowk-Shyam Vihar Chowk-Najafgarh Drain Bridge section of Old Kakrola Road.
In a separate advisory, Delhi traffic police warned that traffic will be affected on Ring Road due to ongoing flyover construction near Bharat Darshan Park signal and the newly commenced work on an underpass from the Punjabi Bagh roundabout towards Raja Garden near Bharat Darshan Red Light. Traffic will move in a single lane, and this disruption is expected to last for the next seven to eight days.
Commuters coming from the Britannia Flyover and heading towards Moti Nagar are advised to take the Punjabi Bagh Flyover, police said.
