
Several G20 nations will take part in a two-day flower festival that was inaugurated on Saturday in the nation’s capital’s Central Park, Connaught Place.
The flower festival, themed Colour and Vibrancy, was inaugurated by Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bhupender Yadav.
The G20 members and invited nations’ vibrant and colourful displays will be presented during the festival, according to a statement from the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).
It stated that flower plants of various colours and varieties are on display in various installations.
Yadav urged Delhi residents to plant flowers in their neighbourhood to enhance the area while speaking at the inauguration ceremony.
The NDMC has displayed different flower plants showcasing the diversity of the Indian Subcontinent. The four G20 countries that are participating in the festival are China, Japan, Singapore and the Netherlands.
According to the statement, the corporation has given all of the participating G20 members and invited nations the necessary space for the festival.
According to the festival’s website, there are also paintings or photos of flowers on display, including the national flowers or significant flower gardens of G20 members and visiting nations.
From 10 am to 7 pm, the festival will be open. Public admission will be free, according to the statement.
Amit Yadav, chair of the NDMC, urged people to attend the flower festival and take in the beauty of nature in bloom.
The general public can also buy their preferred plants at the event from various stalls that have been set up.
A painting competition for schoolgoing children was also organised at the event.
NDMC Vice-Chairperson Satish Upadhyay, council Member Vishakha Shailani, secretary G20 secretariat Muktesh Pardesi and participants from China, Netherland and Japan were among others who attended the event.
