Two men who allegedly opened fire at a property dealer’s office were arrested after a shoot-out with police in Dwarka’s Jharoda area on Saturday evening, officials reported.

One of the suspects sustained a bullet injury in his leg and was taken to DDU hospital for treatment.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Ankit Singh identified the accused as Veerpal (20) and Ankit (22), stating they had allegedly opened fire at a property dealer’s office on Friday afternoon.

“While our officials were investigating and reviewing CCTV footage, both suspects returned today in the same clothes and on the same bike, and again opened fire at the same office,” Singh explained.

A police team led by Inspector Kamlesh, already stationed in the area, promptly responded and pursued the duo, eventually apprehending them near Jharoda.

Another officer noted that upon seeing the police team, Veerpal opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate.

Following their arrest, Ankit was interrogated, while Veerpal was taken for medical treatment.

The suspects revealed they were members of the Kala Jathedi gang and had come to the area to threaten the property dealer for “protection money,” according to the police.

Further investigations are underway.
