As part of its annual program to flush underground reservoirs and booster pumping stations, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) announced that there will be an impact on water supply in certain areas of South and Central Delhi on January 22 and 23.
The affected areas include Defence Colony, South Extension, Rohini, Mehrauli, Maidangarhi, Jasola Vihar, Harkesh Nagar, Sanjay Colony, Okhla Phase-II, Central Secretariat, President’s House, Parliament, India Gate, Ashoka Road, Nirman Bhawan, Sunder Nagar, Lodhi Road, Vigyan Bhawan, and Connaught Place.
In a notice, the DJB stated, “Water supply will be affected on January 22 and January 23 in parts of South and Central Delhi due to DJB’s annual program for flushing underground reservoirs and booster pumping stations. Water tanker services will be available upon request. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the public.”
Additionally, areas such as Janpath, Rakab Ganj, North Avenue, Pitampura, Shalimar Bagh, and NDMC areas will also experience disruptions in water supply during this period. (With inputs from PTI)
