
The body of a 30-year-old woman, identified as Saniya Rai, was discovered at an apartment in the Khirki Extension area of south Delhi, police said.
At approximately 7.30 pm on Friday, a PCR call was made to the Malvia Nagar police station reporting a foul smell emanating from the woman’s flat, said a senior police officer.
Upon receiving the call, authorities promptly dispatched a team to the location. The locked apartment was opened in the presence of the owner and neighbors, revealing the decomposed body of Saniya Rai, with no apparent external injuries, according to an official.
The crime scene was examined by forensic experts, and the body was sent for a postmortem examination, confirmed the official.
Authorities have initiated proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC, with ongoing investigations into the incident, stated the police. (With inputs from PTI)
