Officials announced that the deadline to apply for undergraduate programmes at Delhi government’s BR Ambedkar University for the upcoming academic session is July 31.
Prospective students have until the end of this month to complete their registration on the university’s portal. They must select their desired programmes, upload mandatory documents based on eligibility criteria, and pay the application fee online.
The university offers a total of 1,123 undergraduate seats across 18 different programmes. Admissions to the university will be based on CUET-UG scores. The registration process for the academic year began on June 16, and the CUET-UG results were declared on July 15.
BR Ambedkar University ranks as the fourth most sought-after university in the country, with Delhi University holding the top position.
During a press meet on Monday, the university also unveiled a brochure containing details of its programmes.
Officials acknowledged that there is significant demand for admission to BR Ambedkar University. However, the number of seats is currently limited due to a lack of space. They revealed that several infrastructure projects are in progress, which may lead to an increase in the number of seats, fulfilling a long-awaited expansion.
Out of the total 917 seats (excluding supernumerary seats) offered across the 18 undergraduate programmes, 15% are reserved for foreign students, and 18 seats each are set aside for single-girl children, Kashmiri migrants, CCA, and sports quota students.
Additionally, the university reserves 85% of the seats for students from the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The application process comprises four stages. In the first stage, students must register and provide their basic details. The second stage involves filling in academic details and selecting the desired programme after the CUET results are declared. At this point, students must also pay a non-refundable application fee.
The third stage involves the announcement of a merit list. Finally, in the fourth stage, students who are offered admission will receive an email and an SMS instructing them to register for the programme by paying the course fee after successful verification of their documents.
