Delhi experienced scorching weather conditions on Monday as the mercury rose to 41.2 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than the average for this time of year, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD also stated that the minimum temperature in the city was 28.8 degrees Celsius, slightly above normal. Throughout the day, humidity levels ranged between 40% and 67%.
According to the IMD’s forecast, Delhi can expect clear skies on Tuesday, accompanied by strong surface winds during the day. The maximum and minimum temperatures are predicted to be around 41 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Relief from the sweltering heat is anticipated for Delhi residents as light rains are expected on Thursday and Friday. These showers are attributed to the influence of Cyclone Biparjoy, which is gathering strength in the Arabian Sea, as stated by Skymet Weather, a private forecasting agency.
On the preceding Sunday, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below the seasonal average, along with a maximum temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal. (With inputs from PTI)
