The World University of Design (WUD) is gearing up to make waves at this year’s Comic Con in Delhi, which is going to take place from December 9 to 11 at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds.
Animation and gaming picked up pace in India since the Union government announced the formation of a task force to promote the animation, gaming, visual effects and comic sector in Budget 2022.
WUD had sensed the potential of this sector five years ago and has now grown maturity with one batch already placed with the industry leaders and the second now rearing to make their mark.
Meanwhile, it continues to be the first and only university to come up with an original in-house designed, taught and manufactured program which is ready to transform the market.
The team of students, along with, their mentors are all set to showcase an extraordinary VR experience of a walk-through the university premises wherein different student-made environments have been created and treated differently. Another striking feature of the display is the 3D Hand Made Diorama of the university made by students along-with a lot of other work on character and scenario design.
According to Prof. Raghuvanshi, “For a department this young (established in 2018) it is commendable to achieve this level of confidence and impress patrons in such a huge convention like Comic Con India. Credit goes to our faculty who have designed the curriculum and pedagogy such that the student learns the process and pipeline of leading studios – making the classroom a workplace rather than just a class.”
When: December 9 – 11, 2022; 4:30pm
Where: NSIC Exhibition Ground, Okhla
