Sangeet Kala Samman Samiti has announced an exciting event for music lovers – a “Classical Music Concert” on September 18, 2023. The event will take place from 7 pm onwards at Amaltas Hall, India Habitat Centre, located in the heart of New Delhi (entry from gate number 3 on Vardhaman Marg).
The program will feature some of the most promising young musicians in the country, accompanied by renowned artists.
Pandit Santosh Nahar, a renowned violinist and Director of AIR will take center stage with a captivating Violin Recital, while the Hindustani classical music enthusiasts can look forward to the Vocal Recital by Padmbhushan Pandit Gokulotsavji Maharaj and Pandit Vrajotsavji Maharaj. Providing the rhythmic foundation for the evening, Pandit Pradeep Sarkar and Ustad Akhtar Hasan will demonstrate their tabla expertise, promising to infuse the concert with captivating beats. Adding further depth and harmony to the performance, Ashique Kumar will showcase his mastery of the Harmonium.
Padmbhushan Pandit Gokulotsavji Maharaj, the founder of Sangeet Kala Samman Samiti society and the senior-most Indian classical virtuoso, told Patriot that the Samiti has been actively promoting and preserving Hindustani classical music among the masses for more than 20 years.
“Indian classical music is an integral part of our vast and rich cultural heritage,” he said.
He also highlighted his commitment to preserving this heritage by connecting thousands of students and music enthusiasts to classical traditions through workshops, concerts, and lectures.
Speaking of their musical legacy, he noted, “Maharaj ji has composed more than 5,000 musical compositions under the pen name of ‘Madhur Piya’, and my son, Vrajotsavji Maharaj, has also composed several compositions under the pen names ‘Vrajrang’ and ‘Braj Rang Piya.’ Many of our disciples have become accomplished performers.”
He expressed his pleasure that Sangeet Kala Samman Samiti, Delhi, shares their commitment to preserving India’s musical heritage through various music concerts, workshops, and events.
