Natya Vriksha will present Anāvarṇa: Exploring the Layers, a Bharatanatyam recital by dancer Anandita Narayanan, disciple of Padmashri Geeta Chandran, on Saturday, November 1, at 6:30 PM at Triveni Kala Sangam, Mandi House. Entry is open to all on a first-come, first-served basis.

Through Anāvarṇa, Anandita continues her journey as a solo performer, reflecting on how Bharatanatyam can reveal deeper connections through literature, abhinaya, rhythm, and silence. The recital, she says, is a quiet journey inward — a way of listening, feeling, and unfolding through dance.

The performance will open with an Allaripu in Sankeerna Gathi, followed by a Varnam — Sarojākṣiro in Raag Kambhoji and Talam Adi, and an Alwar Pasuram set in a Ragamalika of four ragas. Anandita will conclude with a Tillana in Rageshri, a composition by the late Lalgudi G Jayaraman.

Speaking about her preparation, Anandita said, “Each solo recital brings new learnings. This time, I’ve discovered how to balance strength and flow in movement and engage deeply with the literature and stories that shape abhinaya.”

When: November 1, 2025; 6:30 PM onwards

Where: Triveni Kala Sangam, 205 Tansen Marg, Mandi House, New Delhi
