Shridharani Art Gallery at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, is set to host “In-Within”, a solo exhibition by the artist Tejinder Kanda. Curated by art critic Georgina Maddox, the exhibition will run from July 22 to July 31, 2024.

The inauguration of “In-Within” is scheduled for 5:00 PM on July 22, offering art enthusiasts and collectors an exclusive opportunity to witness the unveiling of Kanda’s latest works. The exhibition explores themes of introspection and self-discovery through Kanda’s unique blend of traditional techniques and contemporary interpretations.

Tejinder Kanda, celebrated for his evocative and thought-provoking artworks, presents a series that delves into the depths of the human psyche. His new pieces, characterised by vibrant colours and dynamic compositions, invite viewers to experience art in a profound new light.

Kanda’s journey from figurative art to abstract expression is evident in this series, where he employs impasto techniques and a vibrant palette of acrylics. His mastery in creating canvases that captivate the viewer is a testament to his evolution as an artist. The swirling, energetic strokes and the gradation of tones evoke a sense of emotion and movement, drawing the audience into his internal experience.

Curator Georgina Maddox highlights the transformative quality of Kanda’s work. She said that the “In-Within” series represents a profound exploration of the self, with Kanda using abstract forms to convey deep emotional and psychological states. His approach is reminiscent of the Abstract Expressionist movement, yet uniquely his own, reaching beyond self-expression to explore the elemental and the unknown.

“In-Within” offers a glimpse into Kanda’s artistic evolution, where the boundaries between the physical and the metaphysical dissolve, revealing the true essence of the human experience. The exhibition promises to be a captivating journey of self-discovery, both for the artist and the viewers.
