
An art exhibition, Kabir’s Verses in Visual Celebration, inspired by the timeless poetry of the 15th-century mystic poet Sant Kabir, will open on Thursday, December 19, at the Arpana Fine Art Gallery in Siri Fort Institutional Area.
The event, curated by Durga Kainthola and conceptualised by Shubhika Lal, brings together 14 talented artists who reimagine Kabir’s profound teachings through diverse visual expressions. The exhibition has been coordinated by Aparna Anand Singh and features works by renowned artists, including Aparna Anand Singh, Madhuri Sharma, Pooja Mudgal, Sarla Chandra, Sangeeta Gupta, Aradhna Tandon, Shikha Gupta, Shubhika Lal, Aakshat Sinha, Nitasha Jaini, Shuchi Kalra Bhudhiraja, Saswati Chaudhuri, Chandana Bhattacharjee, and guest artist Arpana Caur.
The exhibition explores Kabir’s enduring wisdom, offering contemporary interpretations of his philosophy of love, simplicity, and spirituality. Participating artists, through diverse styles and mediums, draw inspiration from Kabir’s verses to create thought-provoking pieces that resonate with modern experiences. Their works highlight themes of love, unity, and humility, while also engaging with Kabir’s use of irony, paradox, and social critique.

By bridging Kabir’s profound insights with today’s world, the event encourages viewers to reflect on societal norms and their spiritual journeys. It provides a platform for collective introspection and dialogue, reminding audiences of Kabir’s universal truths.
The exhibition will run from December 19 to December 24, and is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The inauguration is scheduled for 4:30 PM on December 19.
