Travancore Palace in New Delhi will host Art of Liberation, the inaugural exhibition of the Fearless Foundation for the Arts, from October 16 to 21. The opening night on October 16 begins at 6:00 PM, with daily exhibition hours from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Entry is free and open to the public.

Curated by Shilo Shiv Suleman, founder of the Fearless Foundation, with curatorial advisor Myna Mukherjee and co-host Tara Lal, the exhibition brings together artists, activists, and cultural visionaries from South Asia and beyond. It explores fire as a liberatory force, reflecting people’s movements for justice—from the youth-led Nepali revolution to resistance against Shia genocide in Pakistan, and the Aragalaya protests in Sri Lanka.

Suleman said, “Art can transform fear into courage. Art of Liberation celebrates voices that resist oppression and envision new worlds.” During the exhibition, an evening of performances and spoken word will feature Aamir Aziz, Shruti Vishwanathan, Mahi G, and Delhi Sultanate.

The show includes works that blend activism and artistic expression. Nepalese artist Krisha Joshi honours the Yakthung community’s fight against displacement and environmental destruction, while Pakistani artist Luluwa Lokhandwala reimagines the Shia Alam as a phoenix of resilience. Bangladeshi artist Ahsana Angona celebrates women’s leadership in revolutionary movements, and Sri Lankan artist Vicky Shahjehan uses henna flames to depict courage in the Aragalaya protests.

Shilo Shiv Suleman’s own poster pays tribute to the women of Shaheen Bagh, whose peaceful sit-ins became a symbol of democratic resistance. Exiled Myanmar artist Chuu Wai Nyein portrays girls playing with snakes, capturing defiance amid political terror. Afghan photographer Zahra Khodadaddi explores the scars of war and women’s erasure under Taliban rule, while Iranian artist Negin Rezaie reclaims ancestral stories of resistance, transforming the lion into a gender-fluid emblem of defiance.

Myna Mukherjee said, “This exhibition brings together the power of art and activism, inviting audiences to witness courage, resilience, and imagination across South Asia.”
