Working with Delhi Technological University’s Department of Design to organise Akshar Mahotsav (Festival of letters), the Calligraphhy Foundation wants to raise awareness about calligraphy – the thriving visual form of writing. The Foundation has been working hard to encourage the use of paper, pen, and ink to support this process.
They will interact with the calligraphy community through this event and inspire calligraphers across India to master the skill and display it in their distinctive way. They will also be honouring Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a government of India’s endeavour to celebrate and remember 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
The event will comprise three phases of learning: introduction to calligraphy, application of the skill, and celebration of the skill. Various artists across India shall join this event; so, it would work as a networking point where the calligraphers can connect, share and inspire.
When: 10 August, 9 am to 6 pm
Where: Department of Design, Delhi Technological University
