“Colors Of My Soil?” is a transformative group exhibition that invites viewers on a profound journey of self-discovery, connecting diverse artistic expressions to explore the intricate narratives that shape our identities. It aims to foster empathy and cross-cultural connections while delving into the profound bond between personal essence and the land of origin.

Presented by Artlune and curated by Vikas Garg, the exhibition opened to the public on August 25.  The group show is promoting dialogue that transcends borders and encourages connections between individuals from different walks of life.

The show surpasses the confines of self-expression through our immediate identities and delves into the essence of our existence. Through an array of artistic mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, and video, this multidisciplinary exhibition offers a diverse and immersive experience that engages the senses and emotions of its viewers.

“The narratives that shape us do not just spring from our immediate and intimate surroundings; rather, they are woven together by the collective experiences of humanity across time and space. Just as our soil, the place of our birth, encapsulates not only the physical landscape but also serves as the bedrock of our cultural, historical, and emotional identities, the exhibition profoundly contemplates the inseparable bond linking our sense of self with the very land that shapes our origins,” the organisers said.

Beyond its role in presenting thought-provoking artworks, the exhibition actively strives to nurture meaningful dialogues and cultivate mutual understanding within the community. This emphasis on dialogue not only amplifies the exhibition’s impact beyond the gallery walls but also enhances the overall collective experience, weaving a more intricate and vibrant cultural tapestry within the community.

When: 11am – 7pm; August 25 to August 31

Where: AIFACS Art Gallery; Rafi Marg, Sansad Marg Area
