Ekatva Festival: Delhi’s plant-based event

Vegan First is set to launch the groundbreaking Ekatva Festival in Delhi on October 15, 2023. This unique event celebrates sustainability, local products, and plant-based living. The inaugural edition of the festival will take place at the scenic Sunder Nursery in Delhi, Nizamuddin, amidst historical sites and botanical gardens.

According to organisers, Delhi’s youth are increasingly aware of climate change and environmental issues, with animal agriculture recognszed as a major contributor. To address this concern, the festival organisers have ensured that Ekatva Festival is 100% vegan, promoting and using no animal products.

Scheduled on the auspicious first day of Navratra, signaling the beginning of India’s festive season, Ekatva Festival promises a range of activities and events promoting sustainable living.

Attendees can enjoy insightful talks, plant-based food stalls, live music, workshops, and more. The festival also features over 30 conscious brands, perfect for Diwali gifts, providing a comprehensive experience aligning with conscious living ideals, said the organisers.

Ekatva Festival offers a diverse array of plant-based foods, from street food to gourmet delicacies, including plant-based cheeses, Indian savory dishes, whole foods plant-based meals, healthy snacks, street food, ice creams, chocolates, baked goods, and desserts. Festival-goers can take these treats home as gifts for their loved ones, they said.

The event showcases experts from various fields such as health, food, sustainability, nutrition, sports, social impact, entrepreneurship, and climate education. Notable sessions include a plant-based cooking challenge judged by Priya Vijan (Top 11 Masterchef India 2023), a cooking workshop by Chef Mini Gupta from Satvic Movement, and an inspiring talk by Sangeeta Bahl, the oldest Indian woman to scale Mt. Everest. Additionally, there will be an expert session on plant-based nutrition for high-intensity athletes by Sandeep Kumar, an animal rights activist and Ultra Marathon Runner.

Ekatva Festival features speakers like Robin Singh (co-founder of Peepal Farm), Aparna Rajagopal (co-founder of Beejom Animal Sanctuary and Agricultural Farm),Shreya Ghodawat (co-founder of Meat Less, Meet More), Ritikaa Bhawsinghka (founder of Hubbba Hubbba Foods), and Vaibhav Garg (Sports Nutritionist for IPL and Super Boxing League).
