Storytelling sessions
What: Reviving the lost art of live narration of folk tales, Octave Foundation’s initiative Wari Jalsa is a celebration of folk tales from all parts of the country. The word ‘wari’ means story in Manipuri. From popular folk tales of Kerala about the love between an elephant and his mahout to dynamic drum dances of Manipur, accompanied by complex rhythms, cross-rhythms, jumps and aerial leaps, the evening will take you through the journey of storytelling.
When: July 8 (7 – 8 pm)

Urdu fest
What: Celebrating the timeless eloquence of Urdu, Aravali Centre for Art and Culture is hosting an Urdu festival titled Rang-e-Rekhta. Starting with a ghazal performance by Shilpa Rao followed by a grand mushaira led by stalwarts like Waseem Barelvi, experience a mesmerising evening that brings you closer to Urdu literature and culture.
When: July 22 (6 – 9:30 pm)

Courtroom comedy
What: Charged with the murder of his fun-loving wife, Himaqat Qureshi seems sure to be convicted with all evidence against him. A chance encounter with Kamal Kant Tripathi, an advocate, might change his destiny. All his life Tripathi has been waiting for that one case which will be his ticket to fame. As these two meet they realise that they are each other’s last hope. To know if Qureshi ends up behind bars, watch ‘Man Disposes, God Proposes’, a gripping never-seen-before courtroom drama that will leave you laughing.

Flow of letters
What: For those who would like to explore their creative side, here is a chance to try your hand in calligraphy. Hosted by Craft Village, Devnagari Calligraphy is the design and execution of lettering with a broad-tip writing instrument. The Devanagari script is one of the most adopted writing systems in the world and is used for over 120 languages. The workshop would enable participants to explore self-expression and improve handwriting skills.
When: July 14 -15 (5 pm)

The Proposal
What: This is a proposal full of confusion and chaos. Innocent Veeraji asks his neighbour, Jaman Singh for his daughter’s hand in marriage. Singh is happy with the proposal and calls out his daughter Nimmo to meet Veeraji. Left alone in a room for a friendly chat with her, Veeraji begins a polite conversation which however turns into an argument. He soon learns that Nimmo is a stark contrast to the sugar-coated image created by her father. Adapted from Anton Chekhov’s hit play The Proposal, this Punjabi edition follows the same plot with a good dose of desi tadka. Will Veeraji finally be able to win Nimmo’s heart?

Inclusive love
What: Promoting the spirit of inclusion and love, Inclov, the world’s first matchmaking app for people with or without disabilities is hosting Social Spaces, an offline meet up for people to come together to socialise, make friends or even find a life partner. Join in for an eventful evening, enjoy theme based performances and participate in different kind of fun activities and stalls with multiple games. The location is fully accessible for disabled people with friendly and trained staff.
