Quest for happiness

What: India International Centre and Portuguese Embassy Cultural Centre presents #Eudaimonia – Happiness, an online exhibition of paintings in oil by Ana Romero from Portugal. “Eudaimonia”- happiness for the Greeks – or the good performance of their demon, is achieved by doing what they are called or evoked for. Artist Ana Romero shares that the liberation of our demons, whatever they may be, results largely from what we are: from the fusion between cinema and life, or from art and life, from music and literature, and also from the contamination of the very small things that daily they bring us “Eudaimonia” and drive away our demons.

When: April 12 – 25

Best of theatre

What: The 16th edition of Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards (META) and Festival 2021 is taking place virtually this year in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The creative industries have been severely impacted by the pandemic, and the theatre sector particularly has been affected as watching theatre has traditionally been a physical experience. As an award platform, META recognises the challenges that the industry has faced and the Festival this year will be curated rather than competitive, and will showcase award-winning plays and live conversations. This edition will feature screenings of some of the best plays that have been part of META over the years as well as discussions on the wide and varied subjects that the plays tackle and various other aspects of the productions.

When: March 26 – May 1

Where: Website of META Awards
