Capturing intimacy

What: Capturing the vulnerabilities as well as the sensual side of individuals and couples, self-taught photographer from Italy, Leonardo Pucci is set to showcase his works in the capital. His work will portray the intimate moments of people in a candid fashion. Titled ‘Episodes (Without A Real Order)’, Pucci believes his photographs are like theatrical settings where the real protagonist is the observer’s intimacy and thus, the shots are impressed in his mind as emotions, sensations and memories.

Faddish shorts

What: Attention, all the fashion freaks in the city! As part of The Fashion Revolution Week 2018, the British Council (India) has commissioned a series of seven short films profiling the stories of seven practitioners across the world, including fashion designers, artists, architects and entrepreneurs. Directed by Kate Cox and produced by the The Smalls, the films have been created in the spirit of the grassroots movement, using content produced by the practitioners themselves. Drop in to know more about who makes your clothes.
When: July 30 (7pm -9pm)

What: For all the cinephiles in the city, Travelling Film South Asia is back with 12 non-fiction productions made in South Asia in the past two years. This edition reflects the historical legacy of documenting the affairs that shape the lives of people living in the region and the diverse stories of South Asians through films from Afghanistan, Burma, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Some of the filmmakers of these award-winning films will be present to personally introduce their films and to lead discussions.

Dark drama

What: Maaya is on her way home after a short vacation in a small town, when her car breaks down. In an attempt to contact her husband, she hitches a ride on a decrepit bus and is dropped in a mental asylum where she is accidently admitted. But the head of the asylum tries to convince her that she is mentally ill and cannot leave the asylum. Maaya struggles to prove her identity and sanity to the disbelieving staff. Watch Telephone to find out if she can ever free herself from the asylum. The play is an adaptation of a short story, I Only Came to Use the Phone, by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
