Crack your brain

What: Here’s a festival that celebrates madness. To challenge how we understand and relate to mental illness, a two-day festival brings in different individuals from all fields (those who have received mental health services and those who have not) to speak openly about their experiences with madness, depression, anxiety and mental health, with a hope to normalise and reclaim the term ‘madness’. Titled ‘Merchants of Madness’, the two-day weekend festival will screen films and hold panel discussions, open mic, workshops, art exhibition and performance art, giving you a platform to express, share and co-exist with madness.
When: September 1-2 (11 am – 7 pm)
Where: Antisocial, Hauz Khas Village

Art week

What: Initiating promotion of contemporary artwork, the second edition of Delhi Contemporary Art Week is back. A fresh group of artists is exhibiting compelling work that reflects the rapidly changing infrastructure, economy, ecology, landscape and identity politics. With seven galleries in the city participating, it’s an ideal destination for established and emerging collectors, and art enthusiasts. It attempts to streamline the conversation and establish a new paradigm, shaped by artists who have exhibited around the world. It will also include outreach initiatives for children, art professionals, collectors and others who are interested in art with panel discussions and talks on the art of collecting, maintaining collections, and handling of artworks.
When: August 28- 30 (11 am – 7 pm)
Where: Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre

Grab the mic

What: Poets and storytellers in the city, come together to recite your masterpiece for Meri Qalam Se, an open mic, organised by The Fun Cube Studio. You can join in both as audience or as a performer. The participants will be given six minutes to recite their work. , It will give young artists a platform to showcase their talent and meet fellow enthusiasts.
When: September 2 (2 pm)

Tour for a cause

What: For those who are new to the city, here’s a chance to explore it in a unique way. Bin Nakshe Kadam is back with the second edition of ‘Rahe Dilli’. Get a chance to meet new people and indulge in some mouth-watering dishes the city has to offer. You can carry your musical instruments and sketchpads to make the experience more interesting. With no fixed itinerary, you can just walk around and explore the modernity, along with the rich history of the capital. All money raised through the fees will be donated to the Kerala relief funds. You can also contribute clothes, medicines, blankets and other non-perishable food items.
When: August 26 (9 am – 6 pm)
Where: Rajiv Chowk metro station (meeting point)

Girls night

What: Girls in the city, get ready to party with your girlfriends. Olly introduces a ladies’ night every Thursday. Enjoy unlimited cocktails and white spirits with fun games and other giveaways.
