Free flow

What: Artist Laxmi Gupta’s lines flow with spontaneous ease, superimposed on bodies of mellifluous colour. Her series ‘Rumination of an Unfettered Mind’ displays a sense of abandon with no signs of premeditation. The hues oftentimes bright and at other times muted, blending with sophistry and finesse, exhibit the artist’s mastery over both line and colour. The work is all the more enchanting, as the medium is ink and water. One can liken Gupta’s fluid artwork with the act of tossing a pebble in a pond, it’s ripples and patterns, which are otherwise momentary, captured on paper, allow the viewer a sojourn into the artist’s mind. The artist describes her ‘Rumination’ as “a mixed medley of thoughts, emotions, questions and musings – a deep and personal quest which begins and ends within.”

When: September 13 – 22 (11 am – 8 pm)

Where: Triveni Kala Sangam, 205 Tansen Marg
