Drama fest

What: Delhi theatre lovers are in for a treat as Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts is back with its annual Panna Bharat Ram Theatre Festival. The festival brings acclaimed, award-winning productions along with great opening shows to its audience. Among them is a Hindi adaptation of William Inge’s Splendor in The Grass which is directed by Feisal Alkazi. Girish Karnad’s Agni Aur Barkha is a poignant play that revolves around power and relives age-old myths with its multi-faceted characters who transcend time. The festival aims to showcase myriad shades of human emotions with brilliant acting skills by well-known actors. It will also stage Compunction by Kaushik Bose, a psychological thriller that explores the psyche of guilt. Joseph Kesselring’s play Arsenic and Old Lace is a farcical black comedy revolving around the D’Silva family of Vasai, which will leave you quite shocked. Shrilal Shukla’s Dastan-e-Raag Darbari is a brutally honest satire on the politics and society and exposes the nexus between corrupt officials and decaying education.
