The Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) is currently hosting an exclusive exhibition featuring the award-winning entries from Talk Talk Korea 2024, the world’s largest content contest. Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, the exhibition, titled “Talk Talk Korea: Embracing Global Emotion”, opened on March 20, and will be on display at the KCCI Gallery until May 30.

Now in its 11th year, Talk Talk Korea has grown into a global phenomenon, attracting 60,000 participants from 140 countries. The competition spans five categories—Promotional Video (featuring Korean music, dance, and instruments), Art & Craft (including paintings, webtoons, sculptures, and calligraphy), Motion Graphics (2D and 3D animation, motion graphics), Photography (images capturing Korea), and the newly introduced Meme & Trend (viral challenges and short-form videos).

Recognising the rise of short-form content, the 2024 edition introduced Meme & Trend as a dedicated category, alongside an expansion of short-form video content in the Motion Graphics category. The first-place winners across all categories were invited to Korea for a special visit programme, culminating in an award ceremony at the K-Wave Festival 2024, which featured performances by K-pop artists and cultural showcases.

The exhibition at KCCI presents 49 award-winning works through immersive displays and three-dimensional structures, offering visitors a dynamic and interactive experience. Indian winners have a dedicated space in the central gallery, highlighting the deepening cultural ties between Korea and India.

Among the standout participants, Gahir Suchismita, winner of the Meme & Trend category, shared her excitement, “With the rising popularity of K-pop and K-dramas, learning Korean has become a trend. I wanted to capture those relatable moments—like reacting to a call while watching a K-drama or casually using Korean words with friends. I submitted my entry at the last minute, never expecting to win. When another winner from the Philippines congratulated me, I was shocked to see my name on the list—I still can’t believe it!”

Highlighting the significance of the event, Hwang Il Yong, Director of Korean Cultural Centre India, stated, “As Talk Talk Korea enters its 12th edition, it continues to be a platform for global creators to contribute to the evolution of Korean culture. This exhibition at KCCI allows Indian audiences to experience Korea through the eyes of people from around the world, strengthening the cultural bond between our nations.”
