The outdoor square of DLF Avenue Saket in New Delhi is set to host K-FOOD UNIVERSE, a special pop-up event offering visitors a chance to explore authentic Korean food and culture. Running from October 25 to November 17, this event is organised by the Korean Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs, along with the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation. It aims to introduce Indian audiences to a wide variety of Korean food products while promoting Korean culture.

The event will feature five themed zones, each inspired by a famous Korean landmark, designed to reflect distinct cultural elements. In the Play Hongdae zone, visitors can immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of Hongdae, a hub of youth and creativity in Korea. Interactive activities like the Chopstick Challenge and Dalgona Mission will be offered, alongside opportunities to take special photos, reflecting the photo-booth culture popular with the MZ generation.

The Picnic Hangang zone will recreate the relaxed atmosphere of a picnic by Seoul’s iconic Hangang River, featuring casual Korean dishes such as Bibimbap and Kimchi fried rice. Popular street snacks like Tteokbokki will also be available, along with a DIY Ramyun-making experience, giving attendees a hands-on culinary adventure.

In the Seongsu Street zone, visitors can explore trendy K-POP merchandise and purchase fashionable goods featuring famous Korean characters. The Namdaemoon Market zone will recreate Korea’s bustling local markets, offering beverages, snacks, and instant noodles. There will also be a Kimchi Zone where guests can learn about the history and regional varieties of kimchi.

Throughout the event, cultural quiz shows will be held at the main stage. These include a quiz battle on Korean convenience store foods and an OX quiz focused on Korean cuisine. On weekends, K-POP dance cover teams will perform, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. A cooking program featuring recipes by Korean artists will be available for participants who pre-register.

Visitors can also participate in the Stamp Rally, where they can collect stamps by completing missions such as purchasing Korean food or posting on social media using designated hashtags. Completing the rally will earn attendees special souvenirs.

K-FOOD UNIVERSE will run from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays and from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM on weekends, offering a comprehensive exploration of Korean food and culture. Attendees can try traditional fermented foods like Jang (fermented sauces) and kimchi, along with trendy dishes such as Ramyun and Tteokbokki.
