The Fête de la Musique will conduct a solo and band competition and a music concert on June 21. Two days later, a spectacular melodic soiree is in store at the Hauz Khas village in Delhi.
The Fête de la Musique or World Music Day is celebrated annually on June 21, coinciding with the summer solstice. This day is dedicated to celebrating music in all its forms, uniting musicians from all walks of life, whether amateurs or professionals. With its central focus on making music freely accessible to all, this event has gained immense popularity over the past 41 years, embraced by numerous countries and cities worldwide as a shared celebration of the universal love for music.
The festival program, which originated in 1982 with the efforts of the then Minister of Culture of France, M Jack Lang, promises a rich tapestry of musical genres, formats, and talents, with segments including captivating concerts, insightful interviews with French and Indian musicians, curated playlists, community radio broadcasts, unique experiences, and much more.
Events on June 21 and 23:
1. Solo/Band Competition 2023 – Under the umbrella of a musical festival revolving around the “Fête de la Musique” festivities, AFD is organising a musical solo/band competition “FAITES DE LA MUSIQUE” for its students.
2. 4AF – At the music concert by 4AF, which is a talented francophone live music band, there will be a colourful mix of music like classic, rumba, makosa, zook, Rnb, jazz, indian classic, afrobeat and many more.
