Musical soiree

In olden times, music, dance and fine art used to command a place of pride and prominence due to classical and technical perfection. Indian classical music and dance had been developed by the sages as a vehicle of adulation and expression. Pracheen Kala Kendra’s quarterly baithak under ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ attempts to encompass a similar vibe for its musical night. Shubham Sarkar, a promising violin player, will be accompanied by Pradip Kumar Sarkar on tabla for the violin recital. For the santoor recital, Pt. Suddhashil Chatterjee, a noted santoor exponent, will be accompanied by Ashutosh Verma on tabla. The vocal recital will be performed by Dr Rita Dev, an eminent vocalist, accompanied by Saptak Sharma on tabla and Sh Mudassir Khan on sarangi.

Where: Pracheen Kala Kendra
When: 13 August, 6:30 pm onwards
