A multimedia art exhibition titled On the Way, by Delhi- and Jaipur-based artist Shivani Singh, is on view at the Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, from January 27 to February 2, 2026. The exhibition presents a deeply personal yet culturally resonant exploration of everyday life, drawing on Singh’s roots in Sanganer, Jaipur, and the rich legacy of Sanganeri hand block printing that she inherited from her family.
Blending traditional craft with contemporary artistic practices, Singh combines block-printed fabrics with materials such as wood, cardboard, iron, plastic, and other mixed media to create immersive installations. These works transform ordinary daily moments, social circumstances, and human struggles into tangible visual experiences, encouraging viewers to reconsider their routines, environments, and the patterns of modern existence.
Through her installations, Singh explores the intersection of tradition and modernity, demonstrating how heritage techniques can be repurposed to comment on contemporary life. Each piece reflects a careful negotiation between inherited craft knowledge and individual artistic vision, offering a dialogue between personal memory, cultural history, and societal observation.
On the Way invites audiences to engage with art as a lens for reflection and discovery, prompting them to examine their own lives, communities, and the often-overlooked beauty in everyday experiences.
