Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts (SRCPA) will present the Panna Bharat Ram Theatre Festival 2025 from December 17 to 22 at the Shri Ram Centre Auditorium, Mandi House, New Delhi. Across six evenings, the festival will bring together a compelling line-up of award-winning plays that traverse human emotion, social reflection and timeless storytelling.

“As a festival, this is our annual tribute to the best of Indian theatre,” says Hemant Bharat Ram, President, SRCPA. “We are delighted to showcase productions that are powerful, thought-provoking and enduring in their impact. Theatre invites us to reflect as much as it entertains, and it is our endeavour to offer Delhi a cultural space to experience meaningful art with their loved ones during the winter months.”

The festival opens on Wednesday, December 17, with Vijay Tendulkar’s Khamosh! Adaalat Jaari Hai, a sharp satire that critiques patriarchy as a mock trial slowly reveals entrenched societal double standards. On Thursday, December 18, Mahavir Charitam by Bhavabhuti brings forth a Sanskrit retelling of episodes from the Ramayana, tracing Rama’s trials and the conspiracies that led him into battle.

Friday, December 19, features Girish Karnad’s Agni Aur Barkha, a many-layered narrative interwoven with desire, sacrifice and the moral tensions that shape human relationships. On Saturday, December 20, Mera Kuchh Saamaan by Ravi Kant Mishra offers a contemporary look at a married couple navigating humour, conflict and reconciliation in a relationship on the brink.

Badal Sircar’s Ek Madhur Prem Kahani Urf Pagla Ghoda takes the stage on Sunday, December 21—a poignant meditation on love and loss set in a cremation ground, where memories and unfulfilled relationships intertwine in evocative, lyrical sequences. The festival concludes on Monday, 22 December, with Maneesh Verma’s Love & Lies (Stuck), a modern exploration of desire, betrayal and emotional turbulence, set against the drama of a Himalayan trek.
