In its second edition, The Art Platform India brings unparalleled access to artworks curated from 15 different galleries for all shades of art lovers

Blurring the lines between artists, galleries and collectors, The Art Platform India provides an unmatched window into the best of art. Back with its second edition, it features solo exhibitions from 15 galleries.

The online collective platform hopes to tackle challenges resulting from the current pandemic with galleries pooling in their collective energies, one step at a time and continue to stand as a strong voice for making Indian art accessible.

A stellar line-up of renowned Indian and International personalities from the art world will come together to share new ideas, trends, tips, unravel interesting concepts and engage in conversation on art for existing buyers as well as budding art collectors.

This edition sees an addition of a new Gallery- M&MwtAG (Mitch Crites & Minhass Mazumdar with Apparao Galleries) with a focus on Folk and Tribal Art. Along with a focus on Contemporary Art, TAP 2x showcases Folk and Tribal Art works being exhibited by two galleries: M&MwtAG and Tribal Art Forms.

Ranging across several mediums, the artworks explore various different subjects from politics to mythology.

Kumaresan Selvaraj – Representing depth through altitudes

For instance in Anant Art’s exhibition, ‘No Match for Politics’, artist Birender Yadav’s commentary on the exaggerated political metaphors of power-lust and nationalist fervour is aided by the use of gunpowder as a medium in his artistic oeuvre.

On the other hand, Exhibit 320’s show ‘Known Creates the Unknown’ is an extension of artist Kumaresan Selvaraj ongoing quest to explore the ideas of memory, its recollection and manifestation on human psychology and forming the very idea of identity.

Gallery Espace presents a suite of contemporary miniatures by the artist duo, Waswo X. Waswo and R. Vijay. The works included, most of them made over the past year, are in a style and visual vocabulary reminiscent of Mughal miniature paintings, Mewar court miniatures and The Company School.

Artist Birender Yadav’s work

On a topical note, Emami Art’s exhibition ‘Fragmented Life’ artist Anjan Modak’s series of small size, circular-format paintings shows the dismal experiences of the migrant workers in the hard times of pandemic.

Whether you are an avid art collector, someone who is thinking of investing in their first piece or simply a connoisseur of art; TAP India gives you a chance to walk through what the best galleries in the country have to offer and engage with legends in the field of art.

The exhibition is on display at theartplatformindia.com
