After a gap of four years, the India-Korea exhibition ‘Radiance Amplified’ has returned to showcase the artworks of both the countries.

It marks the resumption of The Academy’s last interaction with Korea in 2019 and intends to continue the tradition of exchanging experiences by organizing various creative activities, such as art camps, discussions, lectures, visits to modern and historical places, universities, museums, art exhibitions, and studios of practising artists.

The exhibition aims to rekindle the bond of mutual inspiration between India and Korea by showcasing artworks from both countries. It features a diverse group of artists, each with a unique style and approach to art. Some of the prominent artists include Delhi-born Jai Zharotia, renowned for his skills in printmaking, and John Philipose, who creates abstract landscapes that express the divine in metaphors.

The exhibition also includes Korean artist Minjoo Lee, known for her colourful and whimsical illustrations, and Indian sculptor Vinay Sharma, who creates stunning works of art using a variety of materials. The exhibition is until March 30 at Dhoomitmal Art Gallery.

In addition to the creative activities, The Academy of Visual Media plans to restart visits to natural landscapes, which have become increasingly critical due to the effects of global warming. The Academy of Visual Media believes that art plays an essential role in creating awareness of the need for environmental conservation.

“We are thrilled to be holding the 2023 India-Korea Exhibition, RADIANCE AMPLIFIED, after a long gap,” said Shobha Broota, the curator of the exhibition. “We believe that this exhibition will foster a creative journey for all artists and strengthen our relationship with Korea,” she added.

It promises to be an exciting and thought-provoking exhibition that showcases the creativity and diversity of Indian and Korean art.

When: 11am – 7pm; March 2 – 30

Where: Dhoomimal Art Centre A8 Connaught Place , Inner Circle, Level I &II
