‘Saints in Song’: A concert of spiritual compositions

A concert titled “Saints in Song” will be held at the Shri Satya Sai Auditorium, Lodhi Road, on Saturday evening. The programme, starting at 5:45 PM, will present compositions by Saint Surdas, Saint Annamacharya and Swami Vivekananda.

The event will bring together classical musicians from different traditions. Padma Shri awardee Vidushi Sumitra Guha will sing Surdas and Annamacharya’s works in the Hindustani style, while Swami Kripakarananda Maharaj of the Ramakrishna Mission will perform songs written by Swami Vivekananda. Tabla player Pt Nishikant Barodekar, a senior disciple of Ustad Zakir Hussain, will also present a solo recital.

They will be joined by accompanists Suman Chatterjee on tabla, Sumit Mishra on harmonium, Anurodh Jain on percussion and Siddharth Raj Dalbehera on flute. The evening will be anchored by Dr Neepa Choudhary.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra will attend the programme as the chief guest.
