The Delhi Art Society is currently hosting a group exhibition titled Samanvaya: Line · Colour · Form – Dialogues in Contemporary Indian Art at the India International Centre, running from March 20 to 30.

Curated by Jyoti A. Kathpalia, the exhibition is on view at the Main Art Gallery, Kamaladevi Complex, bringing together 25 artists working across painting, printmaking and sculpture.

According to organisers, the exhibition focuses on the idea of convergence — bringing together different artistic approaches through the use of line, colour and form. The show presents both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works, highlighting a range of styles and concerns within contemporary Indian art.

Neeraj Gupta, president of the Delhi Art Society, said there is a need to strengthen the visibility of contemporary art, particularly sculpture, in the current art landscape. Curator Jyoti A. Kathpalia said the exhibition brings together distinct artistic voices while reflecting shared thematic concerns.

Among the participating artists, Kalicharan Gupta presents works from his Metropolis series, reflecting on urban expansion through abstract compositions. Jagdish Chander’s work draws from abstract expressionism, using layered brushstrokes to convey emotional intensity.

Printmaker Anand Moy Banerji showcases semi-figurative works exploring the human condition, while Neeraj Gupta’s sculptural work in wood engages with natural textures and forms. Rakesh Kumar Gupta’s Heads series features distorted forms and bold colours, and Shruti Binay’s work reflects on memory and absence. Vandana Rakesh presents watercolours inspired by tribal and primitivist traditions.

The exhibition is open daily from 11 am to 7 pm.

Artists participating in the show include Aashima Mehrotra, Alka Jhamb, Anand Moy Banerji, Aniruddh Sagar, Anju Kaushik, Apoorva Garg, Avneet Chawla, Girish Urkude, Jagdish Chander, Kalicharan Gupta, Meena Deora, Mohan Shingane, Neeraj Gupta, Nivedita Pande, Prasanta Kalita, Prem Singh, Rachit Jain, Rakesh Kumar Gupta, Sanjoy Roy, Satish Sharma, Shashikala Singh, Shruti Binay, Shruti Chandra Gupta, Surinder K.
