On Friday, June 28, Hindustani classical vocalist Nisschal Zaveri will host ‘Shaam-e-Izhar,’ an event dedicated to celebrating the art of expression through music and poetry. The event will take place at depot 48 in GK1, Delhi, starting at 9:00 PM.
In today’s fast-paced world, ‘Shaam-e-Izhar’ aims to slow down the pace and reconnect attendees with the deeper aspects of culture, including poetry, Indian classical music, fusion, and ragas. This evening will focus on the timeless beauty of these art forms, offering a retreat into their profound essence. The event will explore a range of emotions from love and joy to sorrow, longing, and hope, expressed through soulful ghazals and heartfelt poetry.
The program will feature original compositions in various ragas by Zaveri, providing fresh melodies that resonate with contemporary audiences. Additionally, the event will include Nazms, a form of poetry set to music, creating a rich tapestry of sounds and words.
‘Shaam-e-Izhar’ will also pay tribute to renowned poets such as Dagda Elvi, Shamim Jaipuri, Ahmed Faraz, and Faiz Ahmed Faiz. It will honour the legacy of ghazal legends like Farida Khanum, Jagjit Singh, Mehdi Hassan, and Begum Akhtar through moving renditions of their work.
Tickets for ‘Shaam-e-Izhar’ are priced at ₹499 and can be booked through Townscript. This event promises to be an unforgettable night, celebrating the universal language of music and poetry.
