Bhartiya Sangeet Sadan will present Sharadotsav 2025 – Maha Raas Leela, a grand Nritya Natika in Kathak and Brij-Raas style, on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, at 6:30 PM at the India Islamic Cultural Centre, Lodhi Road. Entry to the performance is free.

The ballet, choreographed and directed by Padma Bhushan Uma Sharma along with her disciples, is based on the 10th Chapter of the Shrimad Bhagwat (Dashma Skandh). Inspired by the late Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay, the production has been nurtured over four decades, making it one of Delhi’s most celebrated cultural events.

The performance brings together the traditional Raas of Brindaban with classical Kathak, presenting the dance as a devotional offering to the divine. The narrative explores Lord Krishna’s Raas with the Gopis, depicting themes of love, longing, pride, separation, and surrender, culminating in the Maha Raas, where Krishna multiplies himself to dance with each Gopi, symbolising the omnipresence of the divine.

Over the past 40 years, Sharadotsav – Maha Raas Leela has been a highlight of Delhi’s classical arts calendar.
