‘Shashvat Nartana’: A showcase of India’s classical dance

The Department of Archaeology, Government of NCT of Delhi, will present Shashvat Nartana – Celebration of Movements, a cultural showcase of India’s timeless classical dance forms, at Vasant Udhyān, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi, on September 21, from 7 PM onwards.

The event will be inaugurated by Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi, with Kapil Mishra, Minister for Art, Culture & Language, Government of NCT of Delhi, attending as the Guest of Honor.

The evening will feature performances by acclaimed artists and groups across classical dance styles, including Kuchipudi by Raja Radha Reddy & Group, Odissi by Madhavi Mudgal and Group, Bharatanatyam by Sindhu Mishra & Group, Mohiniyattam by Jaya Prabha Menon & Group, Kathak by Rani Khanam & Group, Kathakali by International Kathakali Centre, Chhau by Ramhari Mohanta & Group, and Manipuri by Thiyam Shyam Singh & Group.

A special exhibition on the development of Delhi’s cultural heritage will also be part of the programme, offering audiences insight into the city’s historical and artistic evolution.

“This celebration is an ode to the eternal beauty of movement and rhythm in Indian performing arts,” said the organisers. “Through dance, we hope to bring alive the rich traditions and vibrant narratives of India’s cultural legacy.”
