
A dance festival titled “Sufi Dance Fest” is going to be held at Apparel House, Sector 44, Gurgaon on August 11. The Sufi Dance Fest organised by Rini’s Music and Dance School is set to be an extraordinary celebration of the rich heritage and spiritual essence of both art forms.
The event will kick off with ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolising the illumination of artistic expression and the path to enlightenment. An evocative Ganesh Stuti will follow, seeking blessings for a harmonious and awe-inspiring evening.
Guru Shovana Narayan Kathak dancer will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Accompanying Guru Shovana Narayan on stage will be a talented ensemble of musicians and dancers, including Guru Elangovan Govindarajan, Marie Elangovan, Meelu Verma, Veena Sathianathan, and Subrata De.
The program boasts an array of captivating acts, such as “Ten Taal” a rhythmic composition showcasing the dancers’ technical prowess, and “Phero Na Najariya” an emotionally charged performance exuding the essence of Sufi devotion.
Speaking about the Sufi Dance Fest, Rini Malaviya expressed her enthusiasm, “I am thrilled to present this exquisite convergence of Kathak dance and Sufi music. It’s a celebration of our cultural heritage, and I am confident that the performances will leave the audience in awe.”
