‘Swarayoginee’: A tribute to Dr Prabha Atre’s musical legacy

The Hindustani classical music fraternity is set to pay tribute to the legendary Dr Prabha Atre through a special event titled ‘Swarayoginee’, scheduled for Friday, April 4, at 7:00 PM at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi.

The evening will feature a spellbinding performance by Pandit Harish Tiwari, who will present some of Dr Atre’s most celebrated compositions. He will be accompanied by Sri Vinod Lele on Tabla and Sri Vinay Mishra on Harmonium, ensuring a captivating musical experience.

A highlight of the event will be ‘Nritya-Prabha’, a specially curated Kathak presentation led by the renowned Vidushi Shovana Narayan and her troupe. This performance will showcase the seamless synergy between classical music and dance, adding a visual dimension to the tribute.

Speaking about the event, Dr Bharathi M.D., Coordinator of ‘Swaramayee’, a group of disciples and admirers of Dr Atre, said, “We are organising this programme for the first time in Delhi as a tribute to Dr Prabha Atre and to uphold her legacy in the world of classical music.”

The event promises to be a confluence of tradition and innovation, inviting music connoisseurs, scholars, and enthusiasts to witness an evening of artistic brilliance dedicated to one of India’s most revered musical figures.
