Global drag royalties lights up stages in India with glamour, energy, and pride

India: American Choreographer and celebrated drag queen Laganja Estranja recently took The Lalit New Delhi by storm with a high octane performance that captivated a mesmerised audience. Her dazzling energy and showmanship made the night unforgettable, cementing her place in India’s evolving drag culture.

Globally recognised as a standout contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 6 and as a show stopping Lip Sync Assassin on All Stars 6, Laganja has become synonymous with dynamic energy and magnetic stage presence.

Speaking to Patriot, Laganja expressed her excitement about performing in India for the first time.

“India and the Crystal Ballroom at The Lalit New Delhi have an infectious energy, and I am absolutely happy that I brought my high-energy performance to India’s iconic Kitty Su. The drag scene here is bursting with creativity, and it was an honour to share the stage with the incredible artists in India.”

Her Indian tour didn’t stop there. Laganja also delivered stunning performances at The Grand Ballroom, The Lalit Ashok Bangalore, and House of Commons, Kitty Su, The Lalit Mumbai, further cementing her connection with Indian audiences.

“Last week was amazing as we experienced The Lalit’s unparalleled hospitality – from delicious spreads and impeccably designed rooms to the exceptional dining experience at Spiceology. Everything has been exceptional. I’m already making plans to return to India soon,” she added, her excitement evident as she reflected on her journey.

Adding even more sparkle to the event was Bangkok’s celebrated drag sensation, Elista, whose captivating stage presence and vibrant artistry introduced a fresh international flair to the Indian stage. Known for her larger-than life persona and impeccable style, Elista wowed audiences and shared her admiration for the Indian drag community.

“Kitty Su is legendary in Asia’s drag community for its support of artistic freedom and dedication to creating a welcoming space for all. I’m thrilled to have been part of The Drag Dynasty and to serve some Bangkok realness to my Indian sisters and brothers. The hospitality at The Lalit has been heartfelt and attentive – the staff is cheerful, the food is exceptional, and the décor is simply stunning. It’s a beautiful way to end the year!” said Elista, reflecting on her memorable experience.

The Drag Dynasty, a high-energy drag show series, wasn’t limited to international stars. The event also shone a spotlight on India’s vibrant drag scene, featuring an array of talented local queens. Their performances celebrated the creativity, diversity, and fearless self-expression that defines the Indian drag community.
