Savorworks Coffee & Chocolate: A sensory journey starts in Delhi

Savorworks Coffee & Chocolate, a brand reimagining the coffee and chocolate experience, has officially opened its flagship café in Greater Kailash II, New Delhi. Founded by Baninder Singh, an entrepreneur and certified professional coffee roaster, and Paweena Withyasathien, a talented chocolatier from Bangkok, Savorworks promises to deliver a truly immersive sensory experience.

The beginning of passionate journey

Savorworks was born in 2020, during the pandemic, when Singh sought to redefine India’s coffee culture. Frustrated by the lack of premium coffee options, Singh imported a Giesen roaster from the Netherlands and, through the lockdown, began delivering freshly roasted coffee to coffee lovers across the country. In collaboration with Paweena Withyasathien, an architect turned chocolatier, their journey expanded into crafting unique, artisanal chocolates that defy traditional expectations.

The culmination of their vision is the opening of Savorworks’ flagship café—a space where professional techniques meet innovation.

A destination for the discerning

Several items on the menu such as the vibrant “Fruits Bomb” coffee to the award-winning 72% Gin & Tonic Dark Chocolate, reflect the duo’s commitment to excellence and creativity.

The café offers a fusion of Western and modern Thai cuisine, with each dish reimagined to incorporate subtle hints of coffee and chocolate. The Chocolate Herb Grilled Chicken is the highlight—marinated with dark chocolate and herbs, served on a bed of tossed spinach, and drizzled with a signature dark chocolate chili vinaigrette. This dish is a revelation; while the infusion of dark chocolate is subtle, it elevates the grilled chicken’s flavours, offering a unique dining experience.

Unique coffee creations

For coffee lovers, there is an array of options. The standout drink, Trio Pina, is a tropical escape in a cup, featuring a refreshing blend of slow-cooked Thai coconut purée, ripened pineapples, and the bold depth of house-blend espresso. This innovative twist on the classic Piña Colada is reimagined as a coffee drink.

Highlights also include Café Brule, made with espresso, house made sweetened milk, mandarin syrup, and caramelised orange infused sugar for a citrusy kick. Other options such as the Smoked Rosemary Latte, indulgent Affogato, and barista mocktails provide a wide range of creative coffee experiences. Each cup is accompanied by a card detailing the origin, altitude, and other attributes of the beans, adding an educational touch to every sip.

A culinary journey

The menu boasts a wide variety of snacks, starters, main courses, and desserts, some with unique twists. The Sweetcorn Fritter Burger, a must-try for burger enthusiasts, combines buttermilk-crusted potato and sweetcorn fritters with grilled vegetables, house mustard, and zesty jalapeño, served with crispy fries.

For soup lovers, the Mushroom Cappuccino offers a creamy texture topped with crispy fried mushrooms, while Exotic Vegetables in Shiitake Soy Sauce delivers a medley of wok-fried vegetables in a rich and tangy sauce. Comfort food options like Thai Congee and Tossed Shiitake ensure there’s something for everyone.

The Green Curry Spaghetti—a fragrant mix of Thai green curry and coconut milk with spaghetti— is a unique offering, though its flavours could be richer. However, the Chocolate Herb Grilled Chicken steals the spotlight, with its subtle chocolate infusion adding depth to the dish.

Dessert enthusiasts must try the Signature Tiramisu, an indulgent reimagining of the Italian classic encased in a handcrafted dark chocolate shell. We also recommend the Apple Pie, made with khaand for a nostalgic, melt in-the-mouth experience.
