Actor Vijay Varma said he is excited about sharing screen space with Sunny Deol in the upcoming film Antony and called him the “most gentle and loving icon”.

Deol and Varma are set to feature in the upcoming action thriller, which is directed by Balaji Ganesh and produced by Excel Entertainment with A R Murugadoss.

The film will have Deol essay the high-octane role with Varma playing the antagonist.

“I know closely how it feels to get a dhai kilo ka haath. He is the sweetest, most gentle, humble, and very loving icon that we have,” Varma told in an interview, quoting the famous dialogue of Deol from his 1993 movie, Damini. It solidified his image of an action hero.

Key details about the plot of the film remain under wraps, but Varma, who recently starred in Matka King, said it’s an “interesting” story. “I’m looking forward to kind of playing ball with him,” he said.

Varma’s Matka King is directed by Nagraj Manjule and also features Kritika Kamra and Sai Tamhankar.

Deol’s latest work is Border 2. The film released in January and is a sequel to the actor’s 1997 film Border.
